Q: How do I connect SKIGEE with my hotel PMS?
A: SKIGEE Service, which is installed at your site, is responsible for reading the data from PMS. In order to change the settings of this application, select PMS Server Setup available under Admin Setup menu. For more detailed information, please refer to Install Guide at www.skigee.com/installguide.html.
Q: How do I get guest data into SKIGEE?
A: SKIGEE will retrieve the guest related data from SKIGEE Service which gets the information from your guest system of record, such as a PMS.
Q: How does SKIGEE communicate with message gateways?
A: SKIGEE will connect to SKIGEE Central Server to send messages. The SKIGEE Central Server then will process those messages and use the appropriate SMS gateway to deliver messages to the guest mobile phones.
Q: How are the SMS Messages sent over the Internet?
A: Messages are being sent to the SKIGEE Central Server over secured HTTP/S.
Q: What is PMS Database Service Name?
A: This is required when you are using an Oracle database. A database can have one or more services associated to it, and SKIGEE can use any one of those services.
Q: I am getting an error message “Please check your Settings”?
A: You will only get this message when the SKIGEE Service is not running or the IP address assigned in the SKIGEE Options menu is incorrect. First, please check to see that the ‘SKIGEE Service’ is started on the machine where this was installed. You can check this by going into the Services menu under your Windows Control Panel > Administrative Tools. If SKIGEE Service is not running, then please start it. If it is running, please restart it. Try again. If the error still comes, then check to see that the IP address on the SKIGEE Client under File > Options > Skigee Service Host is the same as the IP address of the machine on which you installed the SKIGEE Service. If the IP address is incorrect, please change it to match the IP address of the SKIGEE Service machine. If the IP address is correct, then please shut down SKIGEE and run it again. If the error persists, please contact support@skigee.com.
